Windows on ARM, GPU requirements for DVR?

PostSat Jun 28, 2025 12:13 am

Are there any GPU or graphic driver/processing requirements for running DaVinci Resolve on Windows on ARM? The official requirements do not list anything for GPU.

Minimum System Requirements for Windows for Arm
Windows 11 for ARM.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite series processor.
16 GB of system memory or 32 GB for 4K or when using Fusion.

Searched the forums but did not find much information about running DVR on ARM with Win 11, but did see some basic editing and rendering issues that seem to be based on ARM functionality. The official requirements do not list anything for GPU.

I am hesitant to purchase a new computer (Snapdragon/ARM) and mainly for video editing if there are so many issues.

Any info would be appreciated.

I have a Lenovo ARM laptop that I use when in the field. A main requirement is at least 32 GB of RAM, Snapdragons have their proprietary GPU, and it upgrades its drivers. As far as I know, there are no drivers other than Snapdragons. I use mine for basic editing, having run 4k 60p with no great issues, these include various tracks of text and audio. Having a Snapdragon is good if you need portability and long battery life, but it depends on the type of content you do.

Just read that SnapDragon came out with a mobo, but it's only for developers.

Ruc, thanks for the info. I would mostly be using basic edit functions but would like to get into some of the Fusion effects, mainly for fun and learning. Sounds like I would be able to work with a Snapdragon system as long as I get enough memory. I'll keep an eye out for more info on the Qualcomm mobo - that would make an interesting system.

Thanks, Al.
