Reccomended SSD for mini recorder on ursa 12k wont work

PostThu Jan 27, 2022 9:55 pm

So I got the mini recorder for my Ursa 12k and after buying an ssd a firecuda 120 2tb ssd (Sequential Read 560 MBps and Sequential Write-540 MBps) it just wouldn't work. I kept getting an exclamation mark on the ursa after a few seconds of rec.

So I got an ssd from the recommended list. I found one on the list from the BM website they recommend with the mini recorder on the 12k. I got a sandisk ultra 3d 1tb (Sequential Read 560 MB/s and Sequential Write-530 MB/s). Unfortunately the same thing happened again! Press record after a few seconds the exclamation mark covers the rec button and I have to turn the camera on and off. I tried every resolution and every quality and bitrater and nothing worked past 10 secs before the exclamation point flashes again. What the hell is going on?

Maybe a faulty recorder then? But first check the cable, I've come across quite some crap recently.
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

Likely the USBc cable. Contact BMD support and run it by them. They’ll look after you.

I think somewhere you are reading the wrong information. That drive is simply not on BMD’s official support list for the SSD Recorder for the 12K.

EDIT: My mistake. That drive is on the list. Please excuse me. I had an older version of list saved.

That’s the wrong list.
He’s looking for the note released in March 2021.
That SSD is not on the list for the 12K.

Apologies it looks like it is.
Double check your data rates as it’s not in the top performing recommended SSDs.
