Sound Effects

PostThu Dec 08, 2022 12:22 pm

Hi team,

I have to source and use sound effects for a video that I'm editing for a client. I need an aeroplane taking off/in the air, a space rocket launching and a satellite floating in space . I can't find any of these in the Fairlight Sound effects that I've just downloaded so can you give me any quick pointers on how best to get these, either paid for or preferably free ?

Many thanks for your help,

Neil

Here is a list of free SFX on the net:

http://www.littlemusicclub.com/
http://www.a1freesoundeffects.com/
http://www.pacdv.com/sounds/index.html
http://freesoundfiles.tintagel.net/Audio/

Be warned that you get what you pay for. Good sound effects are rarely free (and vice-versa). I think there are better paid sound effects from the usual suspects:

https://getsoundly.com/
http://hartfx.net/
http://hissandaroar.com/
http://www.prosoundeffects.com
http://www.sounddogs.com
http://www.soundsnap.com

Some of the paid libraries give you the ability to preview and pay for one download at a time, so you don't have to buy a huge library -- just the specific effects you need.

I’ve been interested in soundly. Has anyone used them and what do you think about their library, quality, and ease of use with DVR?
