ResExt01.cab file is corrupt

PostWed Feb 08, 2023 9:11 pm

Trying to install Resolve 18 on a new machine.

Several items (speed test) install just fine, but Resolve itself halts with the error ResExt01.cab file is corrupt.

I've tried several downloads, extracted the files several times and I still get the same error.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Do you have enough free space available? On your system drive where the temp files gets unarchived?

Then you might check for these (they are from VMware support, but some might apply to your problem too):

This issue occurs due to a combination of one or more of these conditions:

The installation package is corrupt
UAC (User Access Control) is enabled on the Windows operating system
You are trying to install using a non-administrator account
The scan within zip files option is enabled on your anti-virus software
You are installing from a shared or network location
There are residual installer files and logs in the Windows operating system %temp% folder (for example, after a failed installation)

And finally there is a tool from Microsoft which might help to fix issues with failed installation:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/top ... f927e1eb4d

Hope something from those helps.

Thanks for your ideas. I'll give them a try.

Plenty of space on the install drive (1TB NVME)

Yeah, but when you start the installation it will extract the files into the Windows temp folder on your system drive - where you will need to have enough free space. That’s what I meant to look for.
