Blackmagic Camera App - no Log?

I realize it's free, but I was surprised to see the new app can't shoot with a LOG profile and can't record in anything but HEVC and h.264. I'm looking for an app to recommend to my students ever since Filmic Pro went from a one-time fee to $5 per week. The plus for Filmic Pro is that it has a decent variety of options like 10-bit HDR, 10-bit SDR with a Log profile, etc.

If BMD is planning on offering a paid version with more features, please make it a one-time fee with paid upgrades instead of the rental model.

Log is only for newer iPhones 15 .

On older iPhones there is no true log , filmic pro and others have pseudo log, you don’t gain anything in dynamic range with this log profiles.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't aware of that. So this will indeed be a good solution for students. We have 10 of the BMPCC 6k pros, but in my classes alone I have 30 students, so there's no way they can all get one of the "good" cameras, so having this as a backup will at least let them get their assignments done.

I'm on a 15 Pro with updated iOS and there's no option for log. Could I be missing it?

Try the latest update from the App Store, then look in settings, camera, color space. What options are listed?

Several people have run into this. Seems that they installed the app on an earlier phone. Uninstall/reinstall fixed it.

I am getting a ProMax for this alone, and I expect to see a lot of material from this app in the nearish future.
