Can't get an input signal using H.264 pro recorder

PostThu Mar 12, 2020 7:21 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to digitise some old DVCPRO 720/25 footage to my Mac Book Pro. Unfortunately no Desktop Video Device has been detected in BM's Desktop Video Setup. I have connected the H.264 pro recorder to the HD output of a Panasonic AJ1400 deck via BNC (and set the correct System Freq to 720/25). The H.264 pro recorder is connected to my Mac Book Pro (Mojave 10.14.6) via USB and HDMI.

Any ideas would be gratefully received!

Many thanks,
Seb

Do you see any light on the H264 that it is powered??

Force an update to let Desktop video run with the same FW on the box.. If the Fw mismatches it wont work / Desktop video wont see the device.
In Windows this is called DesktopVideoUpdater.exe
Located in the C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\Desktop Video

But for MAC i have no clue were to find that.. ;)

I believe with h.264 pro recorder you should be using Media Express, not Desktop Video. Have you tried Media Express?
