First time with a question and I don't know if this has been looked at before.

I recorded with an external audio device (Zoom F1) and the vid was made with my Canon 5D4. The Zoom track (audio 2) doesn't show a waveform for about 27-30 seconds despite being able to hear it. The waveform does show when loaded into an audio program.
Does anyone know how this could be fixed.

The waveform needs to be generated so if your cache drive is slow, that will take longer than if its on a fast, i.e. SSD drive.
What is the first drive listed in your preferences? It should be a permanently attached very fast drive.

Thanks for the reply, Peter.

All HDs are internal SSD.
I changed the format of the audio from MP3 to WAV and I can now see the entire waveform on the track. I find this rather odd because the last video I made, I didn't have this issue. Mind you, it was also edited on Resolve 14, so I'm thinking it may be a glitch with Resolve 16.

I'll record in the WAV format from now on and see how that works out for me.

Thanks again.
