I have the Blackmagicdesign Video Recorder USB 2.0 capture device which it looks like came out in 2008. I cannot find the capture software for this device anywhere.

Please, how can I obtain the software for Mac OS X to use my device?

I have the same issue any assistance would be much appreciated

It's a MAC OS device only, it's an old device, there's no software support for it any more, it directly captures to MP4.
(with Google you still can find pictures of it,
Depending on your needs you could go for the H.264 Pro Recorder from BMD , or an Intensity device from BMD,
a good video signal is always needed to start with, before buying you should carefuly look at what resolution your source is, for picture stabilization a TBC (professional) would be perfect, but these are hard to get, exspensive, + transport costs could be a deal breaker, so check out in your neighbourhood.
you could also use a dvd recorder as passthrough if the vcr has no "TBC" function.
Beware for cheap USB capture dongles, most are for Windows OS, these are hit or mis, so don't spend too much money on them, capture cards (PCI) are mostly for windows, and only usable on pre-windows10 OS's
Some semi-pro capture cards will work fine on windows10, and have updating support, but pay attention which resolutions and connections are supported.

btw. a local thrift shop could have a dvd recorder on stock.

Hello, those keys were fantastic, I still use several connected to mac dwarves for fast and massive vhs/v8 captures. The higher osx I use is sierra, I don't know if compatible with last osx iterations. I can provide you a private link to download the software. Contact me with private mail if you wish.

And that's exactly the point, on 32bit MAC OS like Sierra, the old software will work, but the newer MAC OS 's are 64bit, and a 32bit application/old software will not work.
So, depending on which OS you have on your MAC it will, or will not work.

Yes i am defiantly interested in the software download.. Same thing here where i have the device (and the CD) just need the software.
