How to update in detail 16.2.5 please?

I backed up my database. It seemed to not take very long at all. Anyway, I want to know how do I update. I see a zip file. Do I uninstall the previous version? Or do I simply extract and run the new version 16.2.5? I'd love to know, as I searched across the forums and there's no real explanation I can find anywhere the correct procedure? Thanks.

We recommend that you back up all active databases and current projects before upgrading to this release and encourage you to update your systems to v16.2.5.

If you are on Windows, uninstall the previous version of Resolve via Control Panel - Programs and Features. On a Mac you can just install the new version over the old. I take it you are updating from an earlier version 16.

I have never had a problem with a Windows installation, and the database has always been retained.

I got prompted for the update and simply downloaded and upgraded from 16.2.3 to 16.2.4 on to 16.2.5 in the last month. I didnt have to uninstall on Win10 ...
