Audio constantly moving out of sync

I've been using Davinci for a couple of years now but of late the audio is causing me real problems.
I keep my video and audio clips linked for the most part, after I edit, beit a cut or something, the audio keeps moving out of sync. All my clip and timeline settings are correct and i've tried optimized and non optimized media, using the delete key (Mac) and using the menu. Nothing appears to keep the audio synced to the video.
Anyone got any ideas why this is happening all of a sudden?
Using an 2017 iMac with 32gb ram if thats makes a difference?
