Apple Blackmagic eGPU w/ Windows error

PostFri Jan 22, 2021 6:32 pm

Hello,

I have the newer version of the Blackmagic eGPU sold by apple. It works fine with my macbook pro but I have been trying to use it with my work laptop. All the accessory ports attach and work fine but have issue with the display adapter. It looks like there is a driver issue but it says its the correct one when I run the auto driver utility. If I download the AMD tool it does not recognize the graphics card so I can proceed w/ install.

Its a work PC with a preconfigured version of windows but I have admin rights to change.

Hi there - I got the same problem; I own the Minisforum Mini PC UM690 and the blackmagic design eGPU Radeon 580 and I’m getting the same error w. Microsoft basic graphics driver.
Could you get it to work properly…? Some say, it is possible w. 3rd party drivers.

The best place to look for advice is egpu.io.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.
