mini-hdmi to hdmi connection for ultrastudio mini recorder

PostTue Feb 02, 2021 2:59 pm

I am trying to feed from my canon xa40 using the mini-hdmi using a adapter to hdmi to the ultrastudio recorder. I am not getting any video feed to my macbook. I can use an older video camera with full hdmi and it works just fine. is there a workaround?

Do some research on the frame rate of the camera, is it really that what it supposed to be ?
connect the camera to a monitor or device that will display the real resolution settings of the camera, also if it is progressive or interlaced, with the correct frame rate and resolution.
Sometimes there's a difference between what the (image) sensor "uses" and what will come out of HDMI in different modes of the camera.
