Video Assist 3G with Ikegami ITC-730A

PostSun Apr 18, 2021 12:48 am

Hello,
I recently purchased Blackmagic Video Assist 3G to use with an old Ikegami ITC-730A I had lying around. I used a Canare Micro BNC to BNC cable to connect the camera to the monitor, however under "format" it says there is no source. I've made sure that the cable is in SDI input and SDI is selected as the source but I still can't get an image to display. Has anyone had problems using a VA with older cameras before? The camera turns on and functions as I can use the viewfinder and other features, I am just lost as to how I can record with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The Ikegami is an analog camera. The composite output must be converted to SDI for capture with the Video Assist.

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply Howard. So even if the output jack from the camera is BNC, I still have to convert it before I run a cable to the VA?

Yeah, BNC is the connector, the cable is coax, and the signal can be composite, component, SDI, SDTI, HDSDI, 685MHz WL, digital audio, etc.,

Good Luck
