VideoAssist changes FPS

PostThu Apr 29, 2021 8:16 pm

I just bought a secondhand VA 4K 6G 7" .. It seems to be a model only produced briefly...I can't even find a manual for it online. BUT ...When I connect to my Canon M6ii it defaults to 29.97 even if the camera is set to 23.98. In fact ..there's very few frame rates selectable that don't go bonkers as soon as I turn on clean HDMI out..it'll read the correct frame rate as long as I send HDMI with info ???? What am I missing ?

Your Canon camera only outputs the one frame rate while in clean feed output, this is typical of many DSLRs. The VA can only record the signal outputted by the camera, sim if the camera only outputs 29.97 fps, then that is what the VA will record.
