VA BRAW support- Panasonic Jul 13 firmware update

PostTue Jul 13, 2021 4:46 am

Good day everyone,
Today's Jul 13 2021 Panasonic update promises to support BRAW on VA 12G for 2 more Lumix models.

Just have upgraded Lumix S5 to v2.3.
VA 12G 5" firmware is 3.4.2, which is latest.

Turned "Raw HDMI output" on the camera ON.
VA shows "Format: No signal" for any codec i select.
After switching "Raw HDMI output" on the camera OFF- non-raw input works OK as before (no BRAW of course).

Tried lower resolutions, another HDMI cable which was tested by someone as HDMI 2.0- still the same.

Should we wait for VA 12G update to support S5 camera, as it was updated in spring to support S1H?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, the update to use the VA for Braw takes both devices to be updated. There will be a BMD VA update soon.

New firmware for the Blackmagic Design Video Assist 12G HDR is now available that adds support for the new BRAW output from the S1 and S5.

Thanks for helping!
After updating VA, Raw HDMI output 6K 30fps 12bit works fine via 10-dollar HDMI 2.0 cable.
