What Blackmagic Hardware/Software should I use ?

Being totally new to the Video world, I have no clue of what hardware I should use to mix up to 9 (DVI or HDMI or VGA) inputs to 4 different outputs (DVI or HDMI) (scallable if possible)
The best would be to have a rack with all the connectors, and one piece of software I could write to provide a user interface.
Since I have no clue on where to begin, all suggestions for hardware/software are welcome.
Thanks guys.
:)

is it the combination of all of those (ie VGA, HDMI and DVI) or only one of those?

Same resolutions? Different resolutions? From computers? Video cameras? something else?

If for example all VGA or all HDMI or all DVI, would look at a matrix switcher (Kramer have some, there are other brands, Extron etc). Most have ethernet connection (or usb) which provide software interface.

If you are talking combinations, need much more detail
