Intensity Pro Capture Question...

I've just installed an Intensity Pro in a Mac Pro to capture some old footage from Mini DV tapes using a Sony DSR11. I've tried capturing via firewire with very mixed results regarding the syncing of audio and video. Sometimes the audio would drift out of sync. So, I thought I might try capturing thru the intensity pro...interestingly the audio/video sync problem does seem to be solved, but the captured video comes across with all the data imprinted...time code, date, etc. How do I get rid of that? That's never happened to me before.
Thanks

Your audio really should NOT drift out of sync if you capture via firewire... that should be the absolute best method of doing it as it is a direct digital capture from the tape.
But - that being said... the fact that you are seeing the timecode/date etc is because YOUR CAMERA is outputting that. Look for a menu setting in your camera to switch that off.

Thanks for the reply. I know that firewire should give me the best output, and sometimes the video and audio are fine, other times a capture will start in sync and slowly drift out, and sometimes it's out of sync right from the beginning. It's very hard to figure. These tapes were shot on a PAL Canon XL (??). I've been told that that camera had known head issues that could cause this problem. I'm skeptical because the problem is not repeatable over the same sections of tape.
Silly me...I never got the display info when capturing via firewire, which led to me question.
