Multiple capture with Decklink Mini?

Good day. I am a complete newbie to the video world,so I will probably have a ton of questions,so please be nice. :D

My first question is a presale question regarding the Decklink Mini Recorder.

1.Since there are two different inputs on the card can I capture 2 different sources simultaneously or do I have to pick which input and capture one at a time? I would like to possibly capture a camcorder and a HDMI laptop or DVD source at the same time.

2.Also,do I need the Mini Monitor or can I just use my existing monitor on my computer?
I only have one PCIe slot,so.....that's why I am wondering.

Any other product suggestions are welcomed, but I would like to keep my budget down since I am just starting out in this adventure.

That's it for now. Thanks to anyone who replies.

1. Only a single input; there are other (duo and quad) which can do multiples but they are SDI only
2. Only if you want to output it; again look at a different card that can do in and out.

No, you do not need a mini monitor. Those are only for using with video editors like Final Cut or Adobe Premier, or other special "playout" software like CasparCG
