Windows 8.1 usable or not?

Is Windows 8.1 as new as it is workable for pro postproduction with Adobe CC, Resolve, Red?
While Windows 7 64bit works well for us we ordered some new machines and think about adopting the new OS.

I'd say so, definitely. I run Win 8.1 and use Resolve 10, Adobe CC etc and it works perfectly! Win 8.1 is also the fastest OS I've ever used. Everything boots really fast and it's easy to use. I'd say go for it!

Windows 8 is absolutely unusable for me ..

No problems here using 8.1 with Resolve or CC, not used Red on it though
