Best Graphics Boards for Resolve Lite?

I am an Avid Symphony User on Windows 7 Pro 64bit and also a new user of Resolve Lite. I know both software programs are capable of functioning well with Nvidia Quadro cards and I think the 310 driver works well with both if memory serves.

However, I'm very interested in learning if any of the Nvidia Geforce cards and drivers work well with Resolve Lite. There are Avid users who have reported that various GeForce cards work well with Avid and you get more bang for the buck with those cards over the Quadros.

If anyone has experimented with the GeForce cards/drivers and Resolve Lite and had success, I am interested in learning about that.

Even more helpful would be if Blackmagic has officially tested GeForce cards with Resolve Lite successfully.

I'm sure I am not the only one who would benefit from good information regarding compatibility of various graphics cards and the advantages of each.

Have you read the config guide?

Generally most people are using GeForce GTX 670/680/780/Titan cards. There are so many GeForce cards on the market that it would take BM years to test them all and then the list would be out of date.

You'll want a card with at least 2GB of video RAM.

Thanks for the reply, Adam.

Yes, I have read page 35 of the config guide. It specifies a limited number of cards, both Quadros and GeForce Nvidias. Perhaps my guide is out of date, but mine didn't have any of the newer cards and had no info about certified drivers.

In general, I think forums like this can be very useful when members/users share what they are happiest using, especially with regard to price/performance.

I was hoping another Avid user in particular might share some opinions and experience, but anybody who is very happy with a particular card using Win7Pro64 and Resolve would be of great interest to me.

Totally agree with you. Just asking if you had checked the guide as that is a good starting point.

The latest guide, released in October with Resolve 10 has these GeForces cards listed on page 23 (grab it from the Support section of the BM site):

NVIDIA Quadro K6000 with 12GB GDDR5 SDRAM
http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-desktop-gpus.html
NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN with 6GB GDDR5 SDRAM
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop ... -gtx-titan
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 with 3GB GDDR5 SDRAM
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop ... ce-gtx-780
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 with 4GB GDDR5 SDRAM
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop ... ce-gtx-690
NVIDIA Quadro K5000 with 4GB GDDR5 SDRAM
http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-desktop-gpus.html
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 with 4GB GDDR5 SDRAM

I'm sure an Avid and Windows user will be along soon to add their input.

:-)

I totally agree with you that such types of forums are really helpful because we can get reviews from the other users about the particular topic which are looking for in each and every aspect. After going through this thread I read about the other GeForces card as well. Koolchart.com
