We've been able to record fine with the Media Express program, and I can record from either the Decklink SDI card or the USB 3.0 connection (now that I actually have a *USB 3.0* cable...heheh), and both work identically.
Hey bmota,
I upgraded all my software this week for my ATEM 1 M/E, SDI converters (to and from analog and HDMI) and my Decklink SDI and learned an important fact...if you have the ATEM switcher you don't need to (and shouldn't) install the separate Desktop Video software as it will actually break the Desktop Video programs that are included in the ATEM 1 M/E software. After I installed ATEM 5.1 and Desktop Video 10.1 (which all installed fine, with no error llike the 9.8 Desktop Video install), none of my video recording programs would recognize the ATEM (no USB 3.0 feed or WMD Capture driver), although the Decklink SDI card still appeared.
I uninstalled all my software and then installed them one at a time to see where the ATEM feed "broke" and that's when I realized that the ATEM software already included the Desktop Video software like Media Express, Speed Test, etc, etc. I had erroneously assumed that I needed to install the separate Desktop Video software because I saw a Desktop Video folder in my Blackmagic Designs Start menu program folder (and we all know what happens when we assume...again...).
So, apparently the separate Desktop Video software is only needed if you don't have another Blackmagic device that contains those programs. With only the ATEM and Converter softwares installed, all of my devices are now working fine again and no errors.
Hope this helps,
Jeff
