Windows 8.1 pro and Decklink 4k Extreme

PostWed Dec 04, 2013 5:12 pm

Anyone else having problems with Win 8.1 pro64 and the 4K extreme? My computer locks up anytime I try to use the card. I took the card out and plugged it into my old Win 7 workstation, and it works fine. Any ideas?

Specs are:
Asus P9X79E-WS
EVG 780 FTW 2x SLI
Intel i7 4930K
32GB
Several Samsung 840 pro ssd's.

We have somewhat of a similar system setup here in our lab and it detects our card.

Have you check to see if you're running the most current desktop video (9.8) and possibly tested another PCIe slot? Just something to test before you call into support to help out with this issue.

Yes, I tried different slots, nothing helped, I also have the latest 9.8 drivers. When I open up media express, I get the message, "the settings have become corrupted, defaults will be used" Then the system hangs. I can do nothing other than restart the machine. I took the card out, uninstalled the drivers, then followed the installation procedure again, and got the same issue. There are no device conflicts or anything in the device manager that would indicate an issue, and it shows the device is working properly. There are no errors during installation and resolve detects the card, however, the second I try to access video from it, the system hangs.

I pulled the card out and put it in my old core i5 gaming pc and it worked flawlessly.

My next suggestion is to uninstall, reboot, and reinstall the software/drivers for everything. If that doesn't resolve it, my advice would be to call in and have support walk you through some other steps that I may have missed or am just not familiar with.

On a hunch, I removed the SLI bridge and now the card works flawless, put the bridge back on, the system hangs again. Could you pass that info along to the support guys?
