HDMI to HDSDI mini converter issue

I have a BM HDMI to SDI mini converter that will work with a Western Digital media player just fine. I take the HDMI out of the player and into the converter and get HDSDI Video with embedded audio so the mini converter seems to work.
However, when I input HDMI from a Dell Optiplex 780 Display port (1920x1080, or 1280x720) i do not get any video from the mini converter, HD or SD. I have tried every combination of refresh rate (29 thru 60) on either 720 or 1080 and nothing works.
The Dell display port can feed HDMI to a PC Monitor DVI input and it can feed DVI to the DVI input on a Panasonic 410 HD Switcher. So the display port works. The BM Mini converter will not recognize the output from that display port.

Any thoughts from anyone?

Just updated the Converter utility to V3.0.1. No change in the problem. Still no video output from the mini converter.
