HyperDeck Shuttle 2 computer hdmi

I am having issues connecting my PC though HDMI to the HyperDeck Shuttle 2. I have yet to see the Video light come on for anything I have connected to it. The SSD light is on and green. This is what I tried so far:

* Connected directly to it (HDMI from PC to the HyperDeck) No dice
* Connect with a pass through to a 1080p TV. No video light no output to the TV
* Connect PC to a HDMI splitter with both the TV and the HyperDeck. No video light but TV shows 1080P (TV will not tell me Hz)
* Connect Xbox 360 to HyperDeck with passthrough to TV. No output on TV, no video light.

By passthrough I mean hdmi into the HyperDeck and hdmi to the item. I have source connecting to the "HDMI in" and TV or whatever connected to the "HDMI out" port.

I have downloaded the latest software from Blackmagic and it did a firmware update. I even tried multiple encoding formats. Do I have a bad unit? is there some kind of "no recording" bit coming from a windows pc? I am using windows embedded for my PC (not really a PC but an appliance).

Any ideas?

More info:

When I check the Display resolution I see the "BMD HDMI" screen show up at the correct resolution, but it will not record. I am thinking it must be some sort of copy protection since it seems to work on Windows 7 fine (well the whole screen is green, but it works) and works on OSX perfectly.

I see a lot of people using a converter to SDI, but that seems like an expensive solution. I was hoping to have a solution that would allow for my to just plug in and use it, rather than a mess of wires and boxes.

The shuttles wont process rgb colour. That's why the screen is green.
I have to go pc-hdmi to sdi converter-shutttle

I found this video on how to bypass HDCP for game recording so I purchased the converter from monoprice and I will report back with the results. It might still have the RGB colorspace issues.
