Video Assist 12G on/off with AC

PostMon Jun 13, 2022 7:24 pm

Hi,

Got a 12G 7" video assist off eBay.

Works with batteries, but when I try to power it with the ac cable only it flicks on and off.

I can neither UPLOAD or LINK to the url of the video file showing it :!:

Any idea what this is about?
Does it need a dummy battery?
Is it broken?
Any kind of repair possible?

p.s. I tired uploading a 15mb video to this forum, but it fails silently every time.

It seems if I wait a minute or two between restarts it works.

Is anyone here able to turn off and then back on five seconds later?

I'm trying to decide if I need to send this back.

first check if power adapter is in good working order, what i hear now, is some clicking relays, is that clicking sound from the VideoAssist ? a normal startup should be that of the internal ventilator spinning up,
so some internal power setup/cirquit could be defective…..
