Sandisk Extreme vs Extreme 2

HI, it says on the BMC certified list that the Sandisk Extreme 240 and 480 are good to go for RAW recording. My question is even though the Extreme 2 is not on the list. It is the same drive with improved specs, so should work? Can anyone verify that it will work?

I have read reviews of people that have mistakenly bought the Extreme 2 thinking it was the right one from the list...simply put, its risky. Dropped frames tend to happen, but it will still work, you just don't want to drop a frame in a very important shot that can't be re-shot.

that's surprising since the specs are better.
But I do understand that it is possible even with better specs.

Unfortunately, the extreme drive are no longer made and the price for ones that exist are through the roof.

I think this issue presents a serious problem for the BMCC and BMC4k of which I already own and am on the wait list for the 4k.

I use Extreme 2 480 SSD's with the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 recording un-compressed witb no problems. Works perfectly.

I have been scouring the BMCC forums on line and get a mixed bag on this. Mostly users say the 2 works as well as the 1, but BM has indicated a possible problem but no confirmation. Due to the discontinuing of the 1 many folks have bought the 2 and say it works as well if you use the spacer provided. However, there is a controller difference now too so still??

Can anyone on this forum say they use the extreme 2 with RAW and have success? I already bought a 480 2 and haven't opened it. Waiting to hear good news or will send back. Don't want to send back would like to start using but waiting for someone to tell me of their experiences first.
