Hello I just received my new ATEM 1. After reading the manuel I realized that I can capture the output of the ATEM by using the Capture Pallet? I wish I would have known that before I purchased an external Panasonic AG-HD recorder, I never herd or saw anything about that before purchasing the unit. Either way I still love the unit. My question is, I am trying to figure how capture of the main output of the ATEM with this capture pallet. By the way I am using a Mac desktop for the switcher.

When I open the Capture Pallet, I choose Native/progressive then I choose (save to desktop) Now when done, I see the video clip I just captured on the desktop. When I go to open it, my final cut software seems to open and the only way to see/hear and play my ATEM clip is in Final Cut? It works, but then I have to export the clip from Final Cut in quicktime to get it in a clip I can use, and it takes a real long time to render it. Is this normal? Is their a way to get the clip to open as a quicktime file on the desktop or in i-movie or?

I also found the (Blackmagic Media Express) capture and player, I can't seem to figure how this software records the (output) of the B/M Switcher? I can make it work great with one camera, but if I try to do some switching and use this has the recorder (for the switcher, it will not work? Any help would be very cool. Thanks Steve

Ok...me again...I found out a couple of things, first off seems you capture the ATEM out with the (Capture Tool) the clip then goes to the desktop or where ever you want the file to be. Then you right click on that file and open it with the (Blackmagic Media Express) This plays it back with the audio great.

Now my question is how can you make a usable quicklime file out of that? Their is no (export function) ?????
