Website download and register button not working.

PostThu Dec 12, 2013 11:33 pm

Do you folks at Blackmagic Design realize that the "Download" and the "Register and Download" buttons do not work?!

<url here, but alas, can't post urls>

Any browser, and Linux and Windows, I can't submit a simple form on your website.

I must say that my "Out of Box" experience with my "new" (two months old and I still can't get it working) has been terrible.

I was so looking forward and excited when I found about Blackmagic Designs products.

Now just sad and disappointed.

Please fix the website, so I can at least download the software. The register form has been in this inoperative state for two months now that I know of. Sad.

Yours in sadness and disappointment,
A.C. :(

What software are you trying to download?

I've had no issues downloading various updates over the last few weeks.

Thank you Geoff, I feel stupid.

On another note, the device is very selective (it seems) as to which USB 3.0 host controllers it will work with (negating the "Universal" in USB)

I think Blackmagic Design should make very VERY clear on its PRODUCT pages what hardware specifically it will work with.

I have tried to get it to work on Dell, Lenovo and HP laptops with USB 3.0 ports. It does not work with any of them.

Clearly the experience with Thunderbolt on Macs is completely different.

Again, BMD should make it much clearer to consumers as to which hardware is certified for use with the USB 3.0 version of the shuttle.

Just my opinion after such a sad initial experience with BMD Intensity Shuttle for USB 3.0, especially since the product has such potential with windows users running things like Wirecast on laptops with USB 3.0 ports.

In those two months have you tried to call Blackmagic? Numbers are on the web site.

By the way... to post a URL you can simply just paste it in to the post like this->
http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/company

All good points on the issues with USB3 compatability. You will find lots of information on here about that...and also information on the FAQ section on how to determine your USB3 implementation compatibility with the Shuttle. Did you find any of that information in the past two months?

Sadly... it really is not Blackmagic's fault that the "Universal" part of USB3 is not actually adhered to as far as the specs.
