Dear friends
I’m new user for Teranex 3D processor
The only reason that i bought this Teranex 3d processor is 2D TO 3D conversion for my documentary films
I’m using HDMI from my computer graphics card (gtx650) to the trenax HDMI input but I can only capture normal video (2d 1080p) I can’t capture any 3d side by side or any 3d capture method
My source file in 720p-1080p I need to convert it to any 3d file type in side by side view
Sir. I’m wasting a lot of time and budget on black magic product please help me to represent your product with good reputation at my end because 3D processor cannot capture any 3d footage its capture only normal footage

The Teranex 3D connected via thunderbolt cable to new iMac core i7
My source footage (films -720p-25-1080p-25) on PC with HDMI out put
Pleas help I cant capture any 3D footage I see the 3d image on ternax small monitor but I see black image only in the iMac black magic capture software .

Hello,

In regards to 3D capture, the interaction between Media Express and the Teranex processors is one way, meaning that changes to the preferences in Media Express are communicated to the Teranex unit, but changes on the Teranex unit are not sent to Media Express. Therefore, it is important to make settings changes in the proper order to ensure that the Teranex unit and Media Express stay in sync. A black preview window in Media Express often means that the Teranex setting and the Media Express settings are different.

When trying to capture a 3D encoded output (such as side by side), one should select a NON 3D format in Media Express, since only a single HD file will be created. Below are the steps to capture both an encoded and full frame 2D to 3D Conversion.

Capturing a 2D to 3D conversion (1080p25) with Side by Side output encoding:
- Select and verify your input source on the Teranex 3D.
- Connect the thunderbolt cable to the Teranex 3D.
- Launch Media Express, and select your project video format under preferences (HD 1080p25). Note that since your desired output is side by side rather than full frame, you need to select the NON 3D format.
- Select the Log and Capture tab, verify a 2D picture is seen in the preview window.
- On the Teranex 3D, select 3D from the main menu, and change the 3D Mode to 2D to 3D.
- Change the 3D Output selection to Side by Side.
- The Media Express preview window should now have what appears to be a double image. This is the side by side 3D encoding. You can now capture the 3D stream as a single file with side by side encoding.

Capturing a 2D to 3D conversion (1080p25) with Full Frame (left & right eye) output:
- Select and verify your input source on the Teranex 3D.
- Connect the thunderbolt cable to the Teranex 3D.
- Launch Media Express, and select your 3D project video format under preferences (HD 1080p25 3D).
- Note that this should place the Teranex 3D in full frame 3D convert mode. Since you only have a single source, you will see and error message on the Teranex 3D stating that it doesn’t detect a 3D source.
- On the Teranex 3D, select 3D from the main menu, and change the 3D Mode to 2D to 3D.
- Verify the 3D Output selection is set to Full Frame.
- Select the Log and Capture tab, verify the left and right eye images are seen in the preview window.
- You can now capture the 3D stream as separate left and right eye files.
