Hey guys!
I'm having an issue with my Video Assist 7" 12G and it's focus assist feature.
I've been professionally focus pulling for a while, and settled onto the original Video Assist 7" as a focus monitor and for quick playback to video village. I upgraded recently just due to the brightness, and needed a second monitor anyway.
However, I'm finding the focus assist absolutely unusable on the new monitor.
Its really hard to describe, and my photos are not really doing it justice, but you can kind of see what I mean. It's almost like there's a massive noise reduction filter before the sharpening, and the sharpening is applied on top - all at a lowered resolution.
The old monitor, while still kind of applying smoothing, doesn't have anywhere near as bad of an issue. I've been using them today and had to swap to the old system. It was impossible to tell if it was in focus.
Is this just something in the software, somthing that blackmagic could update or is it time to throw it in the bin and find another system.
Cheers,
Timothy Carr
