Latency for Analogue v AES input on Teranex Mini HDMI-SDI

Hello,
I am looking at purchasing the BMD Teranex Mini HDMI to SDI 12G to convert a HDMI signal from my camera to SDI and also take advantage of embedding audio into the signal. I have options of either analogue or AES audio inputs. I am interested to find out what the latency measurement is for the audio embedding. Is there any latency difference between analogue and AES signals ? There will be no video conversions just 1080p50 in and 1080p50 out.
Thanks in advance.

from Andrew

That's a very specific technical question and I think you will have more luck getting a correct answer by contacting BMD support directly.

My best guess is that there is no or very little latency involved, especially with AES embedding. However even the user manual does not mention any details here. So better ask support.

One thing though: Your camera HDMI output probably will already introduce some latency - 2-4 frames is not uncommon. Take this into account when you are going to embed external audio.

Thanks Robert. When I could not see the info listed in the user manual I thought to ask here.
