Intensity Pro Card

PostSun Dec 22, 2013 4:22 pm

Hi,
I am interested in buying the Intensity Pro, but I can not see any Composite Input in its Breakout cable and my videos and cameras all with Composite output.

Is there anyway to use Composite cables with it.

Thanks.

You plug composite into the green input socket and set it to composite in the BM control panel

Yes, although it's normally better to download the latest software from here

Thanks Adbear.

I have a different question.

My old videos I am trying to convert are VHS, 8mm and MiniDV.

Will using this card to convert them, they will have HD 1080p resolution or at least near to it, OR they will stay on their native low resolution.

Thanks.

The cards do not upscale.. they will be captured in whatever native format your playback devices work in.

Also.. note the captures devices do not work well with VHS type sources where the content is not PERFECT. E.g. If your source VHS tapes have breaks/dropouts you will have a very bad time with capturing. If you search this forum you will find other posts on this issue with suggestions on how to improve the capture experience (most common suggestion is to use a Time Base Corrector.. if your VHS playback devices does not implement that).

For your sources that are Mini-DV you should capture using Firewire rather than analog - as that will give you a perfect digital copy of the video from the tape.
