Hello to all and thank you in advance for providing some feedback on this topic.
My company has been tasked by Google to create several training courses on Google Plus. We built a small studio in our office and would like to use a two camera system using our existing equipment. Our two (2) HD cameras are consumer grade until we are able to get a bigger budget. They consist of 1 JVC Everio GZ-HM30BU for the Primary angle and 1 Canon Vixia HF R30 for the second angle. Both cameras have an HDMI output and I am hoping that these cameras will allow for two types of productions: Live streaming and Recorded using Wirecast and/or UltraStudio. We would like to use either software application when using 2 cameras angles in order minimize the production time when putting together each video course that will also include desktop recordings from our Mac Book Pro laptop to provide visual step by step instructions.
So here is the issue we are facing. After a few days of research and looking at all of Blackmagic Design's long list of products, first, we do not know for sure if we can use our 2 cameras using the HDMI output. Second.. If we can, which product should we purchase that will support two (2) HDMI inputs. All of the products we have seen on the website have only 1 HDMI input and the rest are SDI. Ideally we would like to purchase any product that uses "Thunderbolt" technology which leaves us with the Intensity Shuttle, Intensity Extreme and the UltraStudio 4K if we decide to upgrade later.
So in closing my questions are:
1. Can I plug 1 camera directly using the HDMI input to any of the products mentioned above without any issues or additional devices.
2. How do I plugin the second camera using an HDMI cable? Do I need some kind of adapter in addition to any of the products mentioned above?
3. Based on described situation, which is the least expensive product that we should purchase that will do the job?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated and I apologize for all the background info.
Peter
