The Video Assist 12G uses a 2.5mm inner diameter (5.5mm outer diameter) locking DC power connector.
The standard power supply provides 12V @ 3A (36W), but according to this post the DC power input on the Video Assist will accept input voltage in the range of 10.8 to 17V: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=128511#p719148
Which means that you could probably power it directly from an unregulated D-tap output from a 14.4V or 14.8V lithium-ion battery as these have a maximum voltage when fully charged of around 16.8V. Or a regulated 12V power source would work as well.
