What's a good BMPCC run&gun lens for under $200? Cage?

PostWed Dec 25, 2013 3:55 am

So, for controlled shoots I shoot with a Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 with the BMPCC speedbooster but I need a more compact lens for fooling around, hiking with friends, more run and gun type stuff. So far I have been eyeing the Panasonic 14-45mm 3.5-5.6 lens as it has O.I.S. But if there are any other lenses worth looking at for under $200, let me know.

Any good cage recommendations? I've been eyeing the Viewfactor Contineo cage as it is only $100, does anyone know if this is a good cage?

As to the cage, I recommend the Contineo (don't forget the wooden grip :-) The quality is incredible and - in my opinion - it is simply the coolest and most aesthetic cage for tme BMPCC.

Another Alternative:
Movcam has just presented a complete and low priced solution, which will be available in Europe in the next few weeks: http://cvp.com/index.php?t=product/movcam_3032100
They don't even have it on their own website, yet...
