Need to move Davinci to a new drive

PostThu Dec 08, 2022 6:01 pm

OK. Hopefully this is in the right forum section...

I am finally installing SSD and NvME drives. Currently, Resolve is on the same drive as my OS. The OS is being moved to an NvME. I want to move Resolve to one of the new SSD drives. What's the best way to do it?

Thanks!

I would keep Resolve software installed where you install the OS. Then I would create the Resolve cache on the fastest drive. I would put the Resolve projects and files on a separate SSD drive.

Interesting. Forgive my noob-ish-ness with all this. But, I would have thought Resolve on it's own drive with all the video files. Why keep it on the OS drive?

We recommend installing resolve on the system drive.
U can use fast ssd for cache/waveforms etc, separate drives for media.
