New to BmD - Q about VA3G7"

Greetings, Earthlings!

New to Blackmagic Design and just bought the Video Assist 3G 7in; wondering, can the device be used as a back-up recorder with Android/iPhone/MacBook Pro devices?

How does one get a video feed from an Android/iPhone?

most new Android devices have a USB-C interface, which works well with USB-C devices that need no special drivers, aka plug play… otherwise search for an app that could have being made for that.

Better explain better what you want to do.. you want to use your phone as camera ? or want to play video from phone onto the Video Assist ? this can also be done with a card reader connected to phone and transfer the files, but i doubt you can use the VA as player, because it needs exact specs, mostly it can only playback it's own recordings, and when changed on the VA, the other files with other resolutions are not visible, to play.
so most of the time the VA is used for it's own recordings.
