Deck Link IP Optical PTP and nmos

PostMon Dec 11, 2023 2:33 pm

Hi,
I am trying to install a Deck Link IP card. Unfortunately I can't find a way to enter the PTP domain and I can't figure out how the nmos registration works.
Does anyone have experience with the IP cards? Or is this product still under development. As it is now, the cards are useless for professional installations in IP networks.

Best Regards
Thomas

Hi,

I've just seen your post, can't agree more. I received a converter first, and the card three days later.

Following the tests I've done with the converter, the card is still in the box....

No way to set PTP which seems to be stuck to 127, BMD support just told me that there is no need to set PTP domain, and after that told me to change all our set-up to 127, or even to get the converter as PTP GM .... "LOL"

I did not play with NMOS registry directly but tested the NMOS API with some other tools, and it's crazy as well. Mess in labels, 404 / 500 http erros on some NMOS requests...... THIS.

I don't consider these devices at all for future uses.

Cheers

Jerome

well, in my testing set up, we made nmos registerary server in network and ptp generator which we rented from other company as well. Then there's no need to install anything for you r decklink ip card, just plug in your PC, you will see Decklink on your nmos controller (we use riedel explorer for now). after we tested decklink withe 3x3 converter and all other st2110 equipment we have, withour ptp generator in network, nmos contoller won't work, (for example, source from 3x3 to decklink route doesn't work.) but it will still stream whatever the source it's been receiving!

Hello,
after a few tests, I have managed to integrate the Decklink IP card into our system.
nmos communication is via port 80. nmos API can be accessed via Firefox using IP port 80.
192.xxx.xxx.xxx:80/x-nmos/
This enabled me to integrate the card into our SDN controller Nevion Vido IPath.
IP + nmos port 80
Then I see two video/audio/ANC inputs and outputs.
Unfortunately only the outs work.
I can make connections via the SDM controller over nmos IS05.
Here the SDP File:

=0
o=- 3681971304 21 IN IP4 10.x.x.xx
s=DeckLink IP HD Optical (1): Video
t=0 0
a=sendonly
m=video 5020 RTP/AVP 96
c=IN IP4 233.0.0.1/255
a=rtpmap:96 raw/90000
a=fmtp:96 sampling=YCbCr-4:2:2; depth=10; width=1920; height=1080; exactframerate=25; colorimetry=BT709; PM=2110GPM; SSN=ST2110-20:2017; interlace; TP=2110TPN;
a=ts-refclk:ptp=IEEE1588-2008:7C-2E-0D-FF-FE-A7-24-7A:127
a=mediaclk:direct=0
a=ssrc:4175873100 cname:63B9FF5A6C0946BC8881950A6037E0B4

Audio comes with 64 channels and unfortunately this cannot be changed. Just like the PTP domain. Black Magic still has to work on this.
I hope this will help!
Regards Tomas
