Legacy System Extension

PostSun Dec 17, 2023 12:24 pm

I received a notice that Existing software on my system signed by Balckmagic Design, Inc. which will be incompatible with a future version of Mac OS. I don't know what system it is referring to. Can anyone help?

This may be referring to the Decklink driver which is possibly still using a deprecated dependency.

Is this on a Sonoma or Ventura system?

I received this notice when I updated to Ventura. I suspect if I want to update to Sonoma, I will have the issue. Currently I am on Ventura and not sure what will happen if I upgrade to Sonoma.

We just upgraded to Sonoma and immediately got the Legacy Extension message. Do we know what things could possibly occur without these being supported? I do not want to walk into a mess one day.
