Deploying BMD software via MDM

PostMon Feb 12, 2024 5:57 pm

I am currently taking over management of our video department's fleet of computers and rolling out Apple's MDM and trying to find a way to pull Blackmagic's latest and greatest software directly without us having to go and download it and host it again on our servers.

Ideally, I'd like to just point it at the server and perform a simple "curl/wget" as a part of our deployment script, but it appears to software repo on the website requires some level of verification to clear the request.

I know I would have to update the references in my script to newer software, but that is much easier than downloading and re-hosting it every time an update is available.

My previous employer used Filewave as MDM and distributed everything for macOS and iOS to several thousands of client. Somewhere between 50-100 got Resolve that way.
No problem at all with those deployments.
