What was the source of your footage? That looks like interlaced video and not progressive.

Right click on the clip in the Media Pool and choose Clip Attributes. Change the Field Dominance to Progressive and click Save.

No de-interlace settings needed ? yadif works fine for me,(using other software) ...a bit strange the smartphone footage is interlaced, better also set it right in the smartphone too, to prevent it for the next time, because only the Studio version of Davinci Resolve can convert interlaced footage, the free version can't, last time i checked.
To play interlaced footage on a hardware player is no problem, the tv/monitor will de-interlace it for ya, with no artifacts.

ive tried to make a new project with the same video files butbthis time changing the attributes to progressive doesnt work. what other options do i have for completing the task?
