I updated directly from older 12.7.1 to 12.8.1 without uninstalling the previous driver first.
This caused some hdmi devices on intensity 3.0 USB hdmi input devices to lose embedded hdmi audio.
I wonder why the installer does not uninstall the previous driver first, fully, on windows 11.
I had to un-install, reboot then install, reboot, set default audio output device, to get everything back working.
On a side note, I had x-box working fully using embedded hdmi audio but the other device would not work. on the direct 12.7.1 to 12.8.1 driver update, no modifications.
