Do crops impact the webcam feed?

PostWed Apr 03, 2024 10:02 pm

I'm considering buying a Blackmagic device (again :) ) and one of my uses would be as a webcam.

And given that the space at my desk is limited, I would be curious whether choosing different resolutions, which of course result in different crops, are reflected in the webcam stream. Or is that always based on the full sensor?

I would assume you get out what you see in the viewer. Camera wouldn't be very useful otherwise.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Usually seems Blackmagic Design pocket work in braw mode when are attached to atem, I not tested in another way.
Usually crop be automatic in braw mode when you change resolution, if you work in ProRes where avaible (pocket but not on cinema camera 6k) you can use full sensor size.
