Installing DaVinci Resolve

PostWed Nov 13, 2024 7:02 pm

A couple of weeks ago I installed DaVinci Resolve Studio 19. I believe I made a BlackMagic Cloud ID and tried to use that to activate it however it says "Your account does not have a DaVinci Resolve License attached. Visit Blackmagic Cloud website to purchase a license." When I click Use License Key, it says "Enter the license key provided with your DaVinci Resolve Studio purchase.", which I haven't purchased anything yet.

I was able to download DaVinci Resolve 19 and install it on my computer, however the installation process was very slow for some reason.

Is it that DaVinci Resolve Studio 19 isn't available for free? As in there is no free version of it, it's only available if you buy it?

DaVinci Resolve is free, DaVinci Resolve Studio needs to be purchased so you can receive an activation key, dongle or license attached to your cloud account.

If you open the Support page on the Blackmagic website and click on the DaVinci Resolve and Fusion box you will get the downloads in the lefthand column. The first item labelled DaVinci Resolve is the Free version, the second, DaVinci Resolve Studio, is the paid for version.

Go to the Support page of the Blackmagic website and click on the DaVinci Resolve & Fusion box. The Studio version is the second item. Do not choose the Windows ARM version unless your PC has an ARM processor.
