cinema camera version of ultrascope

PostWed Oct 31, 2012 3:51 pm

anyone know for sure if the cinema camera version of ultrascope and capture work with a thunderbolt port on a windows based laptop? The camera manual only talkes about apple.

I can get an asus g55 with a thunderbolt port but that would be a waste if the cinema camera ultrascope output doesn'tt work on windows.

I think it would be foolish to have an apple only approach, since no apple laptop has enough muscle to edit raw files. A few PC laptops do. I don't want to have one laptop for scopes and another as a mobile edit station.

I believe they are working on getting Thunderbolt support for Windows-based computers, just like they're working on getting USB 3.0 support for Macs.

(I also plan on purchasing the Asus G55, love my G53, just want more CPU speed and more CUDA cores. Wish the motherboard supported 32GB of Ram instead of only 16GB though).
