Davinci Resolve Studio 19 still available

PostMon May 26, 2025 7:47 pm

Hi there.

I've been using the last few releases of Davinci Resolve - free version.

Now I have budget to upgrade to Studio. As v20 is still in beta, I would like to get Studio v19.x in place before the public release of Studio v20.

I can't see where to do that on the Blackmagic Design website.

Any thoughts / help much appreciated.

Go to the Support page on the Blackmagic website and click on the DaVinci Resolve and Fusion box. Scroll down the lefthand column until you come to version 19. Make sure you download the one with Studio in the title. The last one was 19.1.4.

If you can manage to come up with an additional $100, I HIGHLY suggest getting the Speed Editor - it includes a full DR license. So it's like getting the SE for only $100. I'm brand new to DR, but wanted the Studio version and that's what I did, and have zero regrets.

Get the Speed Editor on Amazon (includes DR Studio license)).

I agree with Phil… get the Speed Editor and it comes with DR Studio. My only suggestion is to buy it from B&H is Amazon has been flaky with the Studio that comes with in. Maybe they are trying to sell old inventory first. Both same prices.

I bought mine from Amazon and it was here in 2 days, no shipping fee, and the license works perfectly. I think that the "flaky" part is that they also sell the SE without a license for a bit cheaper, and people don't realize they're buying just the SE, no license.

after installing the 20 on a secure pc i roll back to 18.1.3 Beta this is for professional use still a reasonable version. I run my productive System on a Hackintosh with catalina unless i own 5 mac mini in a AI cluster. Realy i am not much impressed by the newer versions of Davinci Resolve.including the Version 20 now. Audio AI tools work not for advanced use and their integration from iZootope or Native instruments now is more than poor unless the iZotope new versions are realy not the g. still just poor 8 channels. they work correct. the 20 is more a sales honor IMHO in front of some fancy tik toc generation. But nothing realy serious approach. Most important is what are your needs. where are you willing invest time and learning.

No, i was serious, you told that not want to install a beta 20, i tought the out of 20 was a good thing for you.
anyway i'm using 20 from first beta, mee too on Hackintosh with Sequoia, and it's quite stable (for a Beta).
i can talk about AI for video Only, not for audio be cause i'm less skilled in that, and i cannot invest in izotope plugins (too expansive for my needs), and all AI tools like magic mask 2, Depth Node, and more are enought good to be used in production (with some trick), i use also Silouette and many new tools are near that are present in new 20/19.
i not tried under pc be cause i found Resolve under windows less reliable than under MacOs.
