Hello,
I have been using DR for some time now but I still do not understand the file structure. I am about to do a fresh install on a new laptop and want to get it right.
I understand that the actual media files live wherever my normal file structure has them. I also know that I can specify the location of Backups, CacheClips, ProxyMedia and Gallery files AFTER a project is opened. Where does it think they are going to go prior to me specifying a location since I have to open the project to specify ?
DR also creates a folder in "Documents" under my user in Windows with some subfolders in there as well. What is that used for?
The new laptop has provisions for 4 M.2 drives and I am going to dedicate one of them to DR. Ideally EVERYTHING except the original media will live on this drive.
If anyone can explain or has a link to a definitive guide to file management (not media) I would be very grateful.
