Intensity Extreme Optical IN/OUT

PostTue Mar 05, 2013 10:25 pm

I looked at the diagram and did not see any input for optical. Is there a converter that can be bought to allow the use of optical?

Not on the intesity extreme. It is HDMI, component, composite and S-video only.

If you want optical your Blackmagic options are:
-mini converter optical fiber- but is just a converter; no capture capabilities. Optical to SDI and vice versa
-HDLink Optical fiber- more expensive option as will give DVI out as well. Not a designated converter and again no capture capabilities
-ATEM camera converter. Optical to SDI/HDMI and vice versa but no capture capabilities
-Deck Link Optical Fiber- PCI card which DOES have optical fibre.

So depends a bit what you are trying to do:
-MacPro/Windows/Unix tower would use a DeckLinkOptical Fibre
-Thunderbolt enabled PC(Assuming the product can work with it), mini converter optical fiber and then depends what resolution you need Ultrastudio Express, 2K/3D-Ultrastudio 3D, 4K- Ultrastudio 4K
-USB3 (will not currently work on a mac)mini converter optical fiber and Ulstrastudio SDI

If using a converter would go SDI out into a capture device
