I'm considering buying Davinci Resolve and possibly Fusion studio versions but I would like to know how is the update system working.

Do I have to pay a full price for every update of both programs?

The Fusion license dongle will also let you use Resolve Studio. Upgrades have been free in the past, for many years.

Wait what? Are you actually saying that if I buy if I buy only one of them Fusion or Resolve, it will allow me to use both programs in studio version?

Not quite. A Fusion license will unlock the Resolve 15 Studio Beta, and when Resolve 15 Studio is released, it will also unlock that. A Resolve Studio license will not unlock Fusion Studio 9 at this time.

There is no word yet that I've heard whether a Resolve Studio license will unlock future versions of Fusion Studio, if such come to exist.
