Sorry if this isnt an appropriate place to ask, but I find this forum has the most level headed and helpful people!

I have been using a OP/tech pro strap for some time, but its just overkill for my Lumix G85, and takes up too much space with its thick neoprene.

I also do a lot of video, and when I unclip the strap it still leaves a couple of inches of cord with the plastic connector on each side which is annoying as it hits the side of the camera making noise, and is a problem when I use my glidecam. But to fully take off those clips takes too long and defies the point of having a quick release!

I was wondering if you can get a lightweight strap that somehow connects directly to the little metal triangles on each side of the camera, so when you disconnect it then theres nothing on the camera ?

I havent seen anything yet?

One option that may work for you is a BlackRapid strap. They are great straps and come with a quick release that is very solid and can be quickly removed from the camera. I have one and am very happy with it.

With a smaller camera, the Black Rapid Street Strap might be the best option. For larger cameras, the Cross Shot-BK may work better. I have the Classic Retro RS4.

If you have a tripod or monopod with a Manfrotto video head, there is an option that might work for you. I use a Manfrotto 323 RC2 Quick release plus a Manfrotto 501PL Sliding Quick Release Plate.

The 200PL-14 Plate from the 323 connects to your camera tripod connector. Note that the bottom of the 200PL-14 folds flat when you snap it into the 323 quick release for use on a tripod. When you take the camera off of the quick release, the plate connector folds out allowing you to connect the Black Rapid quick release carabiner.

For a stills tripod head, the base of the 323 screws directly to the tripod head. However, it you have a Manfrotto video head, the 323 RC2 Quick release can be combined with a Manfrotto 501PL Sliding Quick Release Plate to get the best of both worlds. My video tripods and monopod use this combo and it works very well.

Thanks for the response. I actually ended up getting the Peak Design Leash, its tiny, unclips easily and only leaves a couple of little plastic bits hanging on the side of the camera.

It suits me as it attaches to the sides, not the tripod mount which is good as I often use the strap to stabilise my shots by pushing it away from me, and if its attached to the bottom it would just tip forwards!
